I’m glad that you have decided to dedicate some time to practising yoga.
A typical yoga class will include physical poses, breathing exercises and meditation. Practising yoga can help you to feel stronger, more flexible and “comfortable” within your body and to achieve a relaxed and peaceful mind.
Below are a few guidelines that will help you to prepare for the yoga class:
Wear comfortable clothes and bear in mind that you will have to remove your shoes and socks before practising.
Please bring your yoga mat if you have one. There will be some spare mats in class that you can borrow if you don’t own one.
It’s not recommended to practice yoga on a full stomach. Allow 2 hours break between a heavy meal and the yoga class.
You may like to bring a blanket to cover yourself up during relaxation. Keeping yourself warm will help you relax.
Remember that yoga is not a competition. You should be focused on yourself and listening to your own body. If at any point you feel uncomfortable in a posture please don’t hesitate to let me know and I will help you to modify the pose to make it more suitable for you.
